Your screen Detecting

About screendimensions.com

We help you understand screens before you buy, mount or test one. Every page answers with real measurements in inches and centimeters.

What does this site do?

It reads your own screen live in your browser, and measures its true size with a bank card. It also gives to-scale dimensions, wall-fit checks and seating distances for every common TV size.

The screen tests check a new display for dead pixels, stuck pixels and its refresh rate.

Where do the numbers come from?

Screen dimensions are calculated from the diagonal and aspect ratio, and model measurements come from each maker's spec sheet. How we measure lists every formula with a worked example.

How do we check the data?

Every model row links to the maker's own spec page, and each page shows the date its models were last checked. A page only appears in search once its models are checked this way.

Until then, the page still works for visitors, but it stays out of Google. We would rather show fewer pages than guess a number.

What do we never do?

We never make up a measurement, a weight or a model. If a maker does not publish a number, the cell stays empty.

We never let a shop link change a result. The recommended size for your room comes from the formula, not from what is on sale.

How do I report a mistake?

Use the contact page and tell us the page and the number. We check it against the maker's spec sheet and fix the page if it is wrong.

How is the site funded?

Some pages link to Amazon, and we may earn a commission when you buy through those links. It never changes the measurements, and the affiliate disclosure explains how it works.

Is my screen data private?

Yes. Every reading runs in your browser and nothing about your screen is sent to us. See the privacy policy for the details.
